Swimply, the brand often described as, “Like Airbnb, but for pools,” wants pool renting to become the new norm. However, most owners aren’t eager to open up their backyards.

Funny thing is, they’ll happily swim anywhere else—beaches, resorts, and lakes—while their own pool sits at home, empty.

So if they can see other pools, why can’t their pool see other people?
